Sometimes, it just feels impossible to have some quietness in Barcelona. Tourists, students and inhabitants meet at the heart of the city, and all you can see is people talking and walking around.
However, there is a place where I find peace and silence. And surprisingly, it's very close to Barcelona's cathedral, which is very visited. Let's find Sant Felip Neri.
When looking to the cathedral, you must take the street on the right, called Bisbe street. In just 30 metres, you will find the Garriga and Bachs square, where you must take Montjuïc del Bisbe street. You will find yourself walking into a narrow and dark street, but don't worry, you are on the right way. And then, all the dark suddenly becomes light when you arrive to Sant Felip Neri.

Alisia's travel blog in Barcelona, Spain. She went on 21 of November 2009 for 1 day. She went because she lives here and for culture, peace & quiet. Alisia went with a group of friends. She got there and around by walking. It is alisia's favorite place.
Gina guides you to Sant Felip Neri's square
Yes, as Gina says, the history in here it's kind of dramatic. In one of the walls of Sant Felip Neri there is a plaque to remember all the people who died in the bomb attack.
However, there is no sadness in the square. Sit down near the fountain, hearing the water fall, and all you'll find is calm all over around. You'll notice that when people enter the square, doesn't matter if they are strangers or not, their voices get lower, preserving the atmosphere.
Definitely, one of my favourite places in the city.
