Hi everyone! I have been in Galway for almost a month now and I am having a great time. We haven't traveled anywhere far yet, just mainly getting to know Galway. There are so many cool pubs here and great places to eat. The people are awesome, everyone is so friendly and eager to talk. When I say I'm from Philadelphia, the usual response is "ah the city of brotherly love" or "Innn West Philadelphia born and raised". They love Will Smith. Two weeks of school have passed and I have to admit, it's a lot less work than St. Joe's. Each class is only 2 hours a week as opposed to the three that I'm used to. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to get out of bed for class, but I manage. The first week there was no rain but lately it's been raining a little each day. It's not too cold though, so that's good. There are five girls that live in my apartment, two people in each room. Two are from Massachusetts, one from Indianapolis, and two from Wisconsin. We all get along very well. I will post some pictures and try to keep this site updated with all the places I go. I hope you guys enjoy and I miss everyone so much!

She got there and around by walking, bus or coach, train, airplane or helicopter. GalwayGirl's travel verdict is: you must go here.
These are pictures from my first couple weeks. I was originally put in one apartment with only three others, but the landlord is kind of unorganized and ended up switching us to a six person apartment. We didn't mind the switch and now we have a beautiful view of the bay! I arrived in Galway at around 8am and slept till around 6pm. Only two of my roommates were there so we went out to dinner at this little Italian place that was really good and then to a couple pub.
This is a picture of Alicia, Meg, and I on my first night in Galway! We are sitting in front of Christmas lights in Eyre Square.
This is the view from the balcony of our first apartment. It is located right in the center of town which is really convenient.
In the next days to come more roommates arrived and we made friends with two girls, Kelly and Morgan, who we always go out with. Since we still had a week before school started we used our time to get to know the pubs in Galway.
This guy was both playing some type of instrument and doing traditional Irish dance. He was really good but for some reason reminds me of Screech from Saved by the Bell?
As I said above we got moved to a different apartment that has a beautiful view of the bay. Along with the new apartment we also go a new roommate, Jo, who I share a room with. Below are some cool pictures of the view that we can see out our living room window taken from our balcony.
We can look up the boats by their names to find out where they're coming from and going to and what kind of boat they are.
In all of our fun we do manage to find time to go to classes. It is about a 15 minute walk to NUIG and there are so many different ways to go. Below are some pictures of what we see on our walks to and from class.
