I've heard much of the grand finale of the international edinburgh arts festival - the fireworks over the edinburgh castle - but had never made it. Last night, after a last-minute trip, a friend managed (heroically) to win the ticket-lottery to get the mightily sought-after bits of paper to get entry to the seated stand below the castle. Cripes; it was absolutely mind-bogglingly stunning and I shall never forget it. The setting was terrific with the edinburgh castle perched above us but once you add in the mix of the scottish royal orchestra strumming a little Brahms and Dvorjak set to a magnificently timed orgy of fireworks you have something a tad special. The cherry on the cake was the cascading waterfall from the castle wall down the side of the rock face - quite magical. A few brief images of the evening below....highly recommended. I hope to go back.

Hugo's experience was in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He went on 31 of August 2008 for 2 days. He went for culture, relaxation, interest or hobby. Hugo went with a group of friends. He got there and around by car or van, walking. Hugo's verdict is: you must go here.
I admit it's a bad video, but gives you a taster of the "crikey" factor
